
The UniDive COST Action, an international network of scholars in language technologies, invites trainers to contribute to its upcoming Winter Training School, which will be held from January 20 to 24, 2026, at Yerevan State University in Yerevan, Armenia.
This training school will focus on linguistic diversity and related current topics – it is a great opportunity to share knowledge, inspire others, and contribute to building an open, multilingual future.
The organisers of the training school are interested in various aspects of language diversity relevant to NLP, such as lexical, syntactic, semantic, typological, cultural, genre diversity, etc.
Interested lecturers are invited to submit course proposals on the following or related topics:
- – Introduction to typology for newcomers (especially from NLP).
- – Diversity quantification in NLP.
- – Diversity and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- – LLMs for low-resourced languages.
- – Enhancing diversity in models and datasets.
- – Using “universalist” resources (such as Universal Dependencies or PARSEME corpora) for typological research.
- – LLMs and language creativity vs. wooden language.
Important Dates:
- – 2 June 2025 – Deadline for submitting training course proposals.
- – 12 June 2025 – Announcement of selected results.
- – 26 November 2025 – Publication of course requirements.
- – 20–24 January 2026 – Winter Training School in Yerevan.
