Data Management Plan (DMP) is defined as “a document describing the collection, storage and availability of a project’s data, specifying what will be done during the project and after its completion to ensure that the data are gathered securely and reliably; under what conditions they will be available for reuse, provided there are no legal, ethical or security constraints; when and how they will be opened to other users; which standard metadata will be used to describe them; how the data obtained will be processed and updated; which data will be preserved for the long term and which for the short term, indicating in the latter case when and how the data will be destroyed” (Lithuanian Research Council, Resolution No. VIII-2 of 29 February 2016).
CLARIN ERIC provides access to a wide range of digital audio, video and text data in multiple languages — including corpora, frequency lists, digital books, newspapers, transcripts of European Parliament debates, historical documents, letters, grammars, term banks, translation memories, digital dictionaries, audio recordings, software for language research, and other digital outputs obtained or produced during scientific research.
To ensure the quality of the data made available and to raise resources to international standards and the FAIR data principles, researchers planning to create digital resources are advised to follow the guidelines set out in Data Management Plans. DMPs are particularly important for guaranteeing the longevity, dissemination and accessibility of the language resources being developed.
