This summer school will be dedicated to the analysis of structured cultural data, data modelling, and the production of significant outcomes for humanities research. Special attention will be given to museum and library metadata \u2013 an important form of structured data that is widely used in cultural heritage research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BSSDH 2026 lectures will explore questions of meaning-making and the interpretation of cultural and humanities data, while the workshops will focus on the technical aspects of data preparation, cleaning, modelling, and analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshops will include the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u25cf Data cleaning with OpenRefine;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u25cf Working with Orange Data Mining, an accessible environment for understanding data-processing workflows;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u25cf Using large language models via API for the analysis of humanities data;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u25cf Network analysis with Gephi;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u25cf Data visualisation with Flourish (including network visualisation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The summer school is designed for humanities researchers and students interested in digital methods, with beginner to intermediate skills in digital humanities.
